Dear Parents,
LDMM ART always strive to inspire and add value to our students’ live through
Art. We believe that Art is a process and every child needs the attention and guidance to produce a wonderful masterpieces according to their level of development. Term 2 will be another exciting art adventure. The theme will be ‘Still Life in Pop Art Style’.
Students will be introduced to various Pop Art Artist eg. Roy Lichtenstein, Wayne Thiebaud,
& Patrick Caulfield. Students will explore the composition of still life drawing in horizontal and vertical position.

1. Introducing the layout of a still life drawing

Here are some examples of the techniques:
NUR & new students will go through a much simpler approach.
They will have to understand the basic concept of primary and secondary colours before exploring the complementary and monochromes.
ENCOURAGE YOUR KIDS
We guide our students progressively. We do not rush and expect them to finish their work within 1 lesson. Therefore, each project will cover 2 lessons or even 3 depending the size/details of the artworks. Some of the works may require preparatory sketches or prep works esp when it involves cutting and organising materials to form mixed media or craft pieces.
For the NUR parents or New Parents: Please do not be disheartened if your child brought home artworks that are not to your liking. Your child may need time to develop his / her art pieces. Art is progressive and every child develops at different pace / level. :)
